Since its first grant cycle in 2015, the Fund has distributed a total of over $48,000 worth of grants. The Smart & Caring Community Fund is represented by the North Dumfries Advisory Committee, comprised of local community-minded individuals, who provide valuable insight and advice during the grant review process each granting year.

The inception of the Smart & Caring Community Fund came as a response to the challenge given by Canada’s Governor General, the Right Honourable David Johnston:

“Join me in imagining our country as it could be… a smart and caring nation, where all Canadians can succeed, contribute, and develop their talents to their fullest potential.”

“Together with our advisory committee and board members, we are proud to partner with both our local donors and this year’s grant recipients in creating a stronger and more vital community in North Dumfries”, says Lisa Short, Executive Director of Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation exists to ensure the needs of our community are met today and tomorrow.  Since 1998, CNDCF has granted over $3 million dollars to our community, supporting both the vital and creative programs and ideas that help our community thrive.
