On Friday, NOVEMBER 4th, the message is simple.

Do something nice for someone and ask for nothing in return. You may even inspire that person to do something nice for someone else. Part of the beauty of the initiative is that it doesn’t have to cost a cent. Holding a door open, giving words of thanks and encouragement, or telling someone they’ve done a good job.
Since 2009, Random Act of Kindness Day® has brought Cambridge and North Dumfries together by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity, with the understanding that every individual has the opportunity to help build the foundation of our community.

Last November 6th, the social media world was flooded with tweets and posts about the atmosphere of kindness that touched our community. To mention a few:
- HC Matcon Inc. served our friends at The Bridges and Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank
- Red Teapot Studio gave out over 75 cups of free tea around King Street in Preston
- Milestones Cambridge bought a couple a surprise dinner
- Waterloo Region Police in partnership with Williams Fresh Cafe randomly distributed Williams Fresh Cafe gift cards to our community
We want to take the opportunity to thank our Community Partners — Idea Exchange, City of Cambridge, and the Township of North Dumfries for mobilizing local residents to engage in various random acts of kindness throughout the day.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. – Aesop
